Run to represent your precinct on the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party Central Committee
We are at a perilous moment in our county, state, and nation and we need to dramatically expand the ranks of active Democratic Central Committee members. Moreover, Republican gerrymandering in Ohio makes it clear what we are up against. Given the gravity of our fight, we must build Democratic field capacity at every level—from block to block, precinct to precinct, ward by ward, city by city and county by county in Ohio.
Who we are:
Our team spans every zip code and community in Cuyahoga County. We are an ideologically and culturally diverse group with a few simple goals: organizing, democracy building, and expanding political participation. The recent abysmal voter turnout in much of Cleveland during the 2020 election and the loss of once solid-Democratic suburbs like Parma and Brook Park are indicative of apathy we must reverse.
What you can do to help support the project:
The ballot deadline for 2022 has passed. Read more about being a member of Central Committee.
Why this is important:
Having activated people on the ground in every precinct is critical to fight Republican efforts at the local, state and national level to undermine our democracy and Democratic values. It’s time for us to go on the offense!
Every four years, many of these seats go unfilled, or people are elected just to fill seats rather than engage their neighbors and build a political program. We need more!
Up next is the 2022 Primary Election.
